First of all, how and when did Alicia Toscano start her career in interior styling and decoration?
– Alicia Toscano: “Well, when do I start? Ever since I was a child, I have always felt a deep fascination for decoration. Although I studied law and practised law for a few years – a profession I also love – my real passion was always in interior design. My parents shared this love of aesthetics and decoration; my father painted and enjoyed painting immensely, and my mother always counted on me to help rearrange the furniture in the house.
Eventually, I started decorating spaces for family and friends while still practising law. This experience allowed me to develop my skills and confirm that interior design was my true vocation. Eventually, I decided to dedicate myself fully to this passion and to professionalise my talent”.
How did your relationship with Quadratia develop?
– Alicia Toscano: “In interior design, every project tells its own story. Mine with Quadratia began in an extremely challenging period: the financial crisis. At that time, the real estate market was facing a complex situation and uncertainty prevailed.
It was precisely in this context that Quadratia relied on my experience to lead a fundamental project: the decoration of show flats that would serve as a sales attraction for their current developments. The results exceeded all expectations and that first success marked the beginning of a close relationship with Quadratia’s Commercial Management”.
This collaboration was consolidated on the basis of mutual trust and a shared vision of how interior design can have a decisive influence on the success of a real estate project.

What are the residential projects you collaborate with us on?
– Alicia Toscano: “I collaborate in all residential projects along the Mediterranean coast, concentrating my work especially in the province of Alicante, where the wonderful beaches of Villajoyosa, Denia and Calpe stand out. I am also involved in developments that extend to the regions of Murcia and even Malaga.”
Getting into the subject… What style do you try to transmit to the houses and why?

– Alicia Toscano: “My style can be defined as minimalist-Mediterranean. It may sound a bit specific, but it has a reason to be. I adopt a minimalist approach using a palette of neutral colours such as white, grey and beige as a base to build the spaces. The Mediterranean touch is fundamental because, as you know, natural light floods every room here, and I want to preserve it as much as possible. I prefer to avoid dark colours to maintain that luminosity and spaciousness.
In addition, I occasionally incorporate Nordic elements that bring warmth and functionality to the design. In some projects, I add more eccentric touches of colour to give personality and dynamism to the spaces, without losing the overall harmony”.
Talking about that “minimalist-Mediterranean style”. Could you define your work in interior design in 3 words?
– Alicia Toscano: “Light, functionality and harmony”.
What colours define current trends in interior decoration?
– Alicia Toscano: “Personally, I favour colours such as white and beige, which provide a serene and versatile base for any space. I complement these tones with colours that promote comfort and calm, such as brown, which establishes a natural connection, terracotta, which adds warmth, and an earthy green that conveys great tranquillity.
I also like to incorporate deep blue as a touch of elegance and sophistication. These colours have been dominant last year, continue to trend this year and will undoubtedly remain popular next year.”
In recent years, neutral tones have taken centre stage in interior design.
Alicia Toscano, expert in style and interior decoration, comments.
What decorative elements are “essential” when it comes to defining the style and interior decoration of a Quadratia home?
– Alicia Toscano: “My projects are always dominated by natural materials such as wood and stone, which become the protagonists. When choosing fabrics for living rooms and bedrooms, I prefer linens and cottons. In addition, I pay special attention to the volumes applied, looking for uncluttered spaces as a final result. In them, in a subtle way, I can play with different shapes through details such as vases, sculptures, mirrors and plants”.
What are the biggest challenges facing an interior designer like yourself when faced with residential projects like Quadratia’s?
– Alicia Toscano: “One of my biggest challenges is to find materials that are not only sustainable, but also aesthetically appealing and economically viable. I consider it essential to educate buyers about the long-term benefits of these materials”.
The importance of detail… It is said that “homes that convey peace and balance can improve the emotional well-being of their tenants”. What do you think of this statement?

– Alicia Toscano: “I agree with this statement: a decoration that prioritises natural light, a correct distribution of space and the right colours has a positive impact on our mood and general wellbeing”.
I am convinced that a harmonious home promotes tranquillity, reduces stress and becomes that space of relaxation and personal connection that we all seek.
Alicia Toscano, an expert in style and interior decoration, points out.
Do you believe that housing should be considered as a fully coherent “whole”, or that each room should have its own identity, according to its function and the lifestyle of the tenants?
– Alicia Toscano: “Both. The key is to find common elements that connect the spaces, either through colours or materials, while still preserving the unique character of each area”.
How does your interior design work contribute to promoting a healthy lifestyle for Quadratia’s clients?
– Alicia Toscano: “Going back to the above, I try to ensure that my work contributes to promoting a healthy lifestyle. I believe I achieve this in several ways. For example, I take great care with the lighting: I incorporate plenty of natural light, as I believe it improves mood and favours the sleep cycle, and I use carefully studied indirect artificial lighting to create intimate and comfortable environments.
I also seek to maintain a connection with nature through the materials I use, such as wood, stone and linen, in the belief that they enhance general well-being. These eco-friendly and non-toxic materials improve indoor air quality. In addition, I always introduce plants in my projects, as they play a key role in filtering the air and improving oxygenation.”
Let’s talk about the future… As an experienced interior designer, how do you think Quadratia’s residential projects can transform the perception of the concept of “home”?

– Alicia Toscano: “In my opinion, Quadratia is setting a new standard for what it means to live responsibly. Ultimately, people will not just be looking for a house, but a home that offers a living experience that combines comfort, health, wellness and respect for the planet.“
Thanks to its sustainable designs, Quadratia makes each home a generator of wellbeing for its residents and the environment, demonstrating that sustainable can be equally attractive and functional.
Alicia Toscano, an expert in style and interior decoration, stands out.
What advice would you give to someone looking to buy a house in a residential project on the Mediterranean coast like Quadratia’s?
– Alicia Toscano: “My advice is to think long term. It’s not just about investing in a house, but in a home with a differential seal and a guaranteed increase in value, focused on a healthy lifestyle.
When a home is designed with sustainable principles in mind, it not only reduces energy costs, but also contributes to the well-being of the community and the planet. Quadratia’s homes not only provide a great place to live today, but also represent a safe and cost-effective legacy for future generations.”
