Just a few steps from the Almadraba beach in El Verger (Denia), Talasa Utopian Village, Quadratia’s new residential project, is born. A development that stands out not only for its privileged location, but also for a design philosophy that moves away from the conventional to give way to a way of living that is more conscious, human and connected to the environment.
Today we talk to Tomás Belando, architect and project coordinator at Adoras Atelier, the studio in charge of shaping this proposal. In this interview, Tomás tells us how Talasa came about, what makes it so special and why it is much more than just a beachfront development.
Will you join us?
What were you looking for with the Talasa project in El Verger – Denia?
Talasa Utopian Village is not your average luxury development. Of course, it offers homes with large terraces, privacy and green areas, but from the outset it sought to go beyond the traditional concept.
With this project we wanted to offer a different luxury: that of sharing common spaces and services of the same level as those of a detached house, but without having to assume its high cost.
— Tomás Belando, project coordinator at Adoras Atelier.
The objective has been clear: to make possible what seemed difficult to reconcile. To create a residential community where sustainability, wellbeing and respect for the environment coexist, without renouncing design and quality of life.
Designing with intention: the philosophy behind Talasa Utopian Villag

As part of its evolutionary design approach, the Adoras Atelier team has applied to Talas lessons learned from previous projects, such as Allonbay, and has defined four pillars that shape the entire proposal: sustainability, healthy living, ecovillage and minimalism.
Talasa and its 4 fundamental pillars: sustainability, healthy living, ecovillage and minimalism

Although all four principles carry equal weight, sustainability stands out for its practical and measurable application. Tomás Belando gives as an example:
- Reuse of rainwater for irrigation.
- Low light pollution, which also improves the comfort of the spaces.
- The installation of photovoltaic panels that will cover approximately 60 % of the energy consumption of the houses and the community’s consumption.
In line with Quadratia’s philosophy, this commitment to a more efficient and environmentally friendly way of living is also reflected in its construction approach. You can find out more about how sustainable construction is redefining residential development in this other blog article.
Nature also plays a leading role. The communal areas are designed as living spaces, where walking, yoga or cycling are part of everyday life and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle.
All this without forgetting functionality and minimalism, which are especially expressed in the terraces. Compact, square in shape, designed to make the most of the space.
— Tomás Belando, project coordinator at Adoras Atelier.
The architect defines these terraces as “elevated vantage points from which the dwellings are visually connected to the outside“, thus reinforcing the relationship between architecture and the environment.
Why live in Talasa Utopian Village?

The true differential value of Talasa Utopian Village is its commitment to the ecovillage concept, a philosophy that combines environmental sustainability with a strong sense of community.
Talasa doesn’t just offer a swimming pool or a gym. It goes further, with spaces such as an urban vegetable garden, a yoga park or a spa for pets, designed to encourage a more conscious and connected lifestyle.
— Tomás Belando, project coordinator at Adoras Atelier.
Among the most unique communal areas is the DIY (Do It Yourself) space, equipped with tools so that residents can carry out small repairs, assemble furniture or give free rein to their creativity.
And what at first might seem a disadvantage —not being on the beachfront— has become an opportunity to innovate. Thus Puerto Talasa was born, an exclusive community space that connects directly with the Almadraba beach. Through a convenient bike ride, residents can access this area equipped with lockers, showers, a small swimming pool and an area for events.
Because Talasa is not just a place to live. It is a way of living. A project that puts people, the environment and a new way of understanding luxury at the centre: more serene, more connected, more conscious.
At Quadratia we believe that this is what the homes of the future should look like. And Talasa Utopian Village is just the beginning.
